Katrina Tarin
Office Administrator/Management
With over a dozen years of experience as an Office Manager, Katrina handles all accounting while managing the firm’s eight-figure finances. Her background in media relations (touting internships at UTEP and the Sun Bowl Association) also plays a pivotal role in the firm’s marketing strategies. Responsible for all external relations, Katrina assists Ms. Scherr in her involvement with numerous organizations including the State Bar of Texas, American Association of Justice, Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys, and El Paso’s Downtown Management District Board…just to name a few. Heading Human Resources, Katrina is not only responsible for the firm events and operations but also spearheads Scherr Law Firm’s High School Scholarship and Internship Program and the Law School Summer Clerk Program. When not immersed in documents, you can find Katrina perfecting the art of organization (seriously, there’s no label-maker too fancy) or compiling intricate research to attack the opposition. Outside of the firm, Katrina is also a dedicated wife and mother to two very active kiddos who excel in volleyball, swim, cheer, and music.
Brianna Salinas
Legal Assistant
Brianna Salinas has dedicated over ten years to getting clients the justice they deserve, most of which has been alongside Maxey! If there’s one thing Brianna knows, it’s that behind every successful case is a mountain of evidence and discovery documents, all meticulously organized and ready to make the case stronger. Brianna is the wizard behind the scenes who ensures that all documents are organized, filed, and flawlessly prepped for attorneys to wield in court. Brianna is often the client’s most recognizable point of contact and confidante extraordinaire! With a heart of gold, she caringly coordinates all communication and information to keep the firm’s strategy on focus and at an optimal level. Her attention to detail is evident as she accompanies Maxey to trial ready to assist in any way possible. Brianna is a proud Baylor alum with bachelor’s degrees in communications and psychology. As the oldest child in her family, she’s super dedicated to her loved ones. With Legally Blonde as her favorite movie, Brianna’s favorite question is “Can I sign this in pink?”
Carlos Martin Jr.
Legal Assistant
Possessing an enthusiastic passion to help people and relentless work ethic, Carlos maintains the client’s medical history documentation and discovery responses. Known for his sharp attention to detail and quick turnaround time on tasks, Carlos refuses to settle for anything less than the best. Around here, Demand the Max isn’t just a tagline—it’s how Carlos works, thinks, and fights for every client! Outside the office, Carlos is a full-time husband to a beautiful, boss-level wife, and proud dad to two daughters and one son. His eldest daughter is soon to be a nurse, and the younger one is still figuring it out (but she still has plenty of time). His only son is soon to be a U.S. Marine (Sempre Fi!). As a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, he knows dedication even in the face of disappointment (as history has shown thus far)! If you spot any ducks around, think of Carlos—he’s got a thing for them!
Mariana Murguia
Office Assistant
Committed to a growth mindset (both personally and professionally), Mariana also exudes tranquility and confidence! At the office, her voice is likely the first one you’ll hear as she ensures successful communication between Scherr Law Firm and the outside world. Her primary responsibility is enhancing marketing efforts as she keeps the office abreast of what’s trending and is ready to snap a pic at a moment’s notice. With previous experience in real estate, she also puts her personal touch into enhancing the office décor. As a licensed Texas Realtor, Mariana sold her first home at the age of 19! When away from the office, you can find her helping clients find their perfect home. In her free time, you can catch Mariana running El Paso’s beautiful outdoor trails or taking a barre class. More than anything, Mariana is ready for new ventures, even potentially fulfilling law school aspirations soon enough!
